Botox

Wrinkles, which are the most prominent traces left on our face by years and facial expressions, can make our expression look tired, stressed and older than it is. Botox application is a non-surgical, fast and effective medical aesthetic method that minimizes these dynamic wrinkles and gives the skin a younger, rested and positive appearance.

Over the years, the movement of facial muscles leaves lines on the forehead, between the eyebrows, and around the eyes that give the face a tired appearance. Botox is a non-surgical medical aesthetic procedure that targets these dynamic wrinkles.

Botox, Clostridium botulinum It is a medical aesthetic procedure in which a purified protein derived from the bacterium is used in a laboratory setting to temporarily limit the movement of facial muscles, thereby reducing the appearance of dynamic wrinkles.

About the App

What Is Botox, and How Does It Work?

Botulinum toxin is a substance that has been used in medicine for many years in various fields, such as strabismus, migraines, and excessive sweating. In aesthetic dermatology, it is used to soften lines caused by the contraction of facial muscles.

It temporarily limits nerve transmission to the muscle in the treated area. Since the muscle does not contract, the skin over it does not wrinkle; the deepening of existing lines slows down, and the skin’s surface appears smoother. The effect is not permanent; muscle function returns on its own over time.

The dosage and injection sites are determined by the physician following an examination, based on the individual’s facial anatomy, muscle strength, and expectations.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions About Botox

Is a Botox treatment painful?

Because very fine needles are used, most people describe the procedure as a slight prick. Comfort can be enhanced in sensitive areas by applying a cold compress or a topical anesthetic cream before the procedure.

Does Botox freeze facial expressions?

A frozen expression occurs when the dose and injection sites are not tailored to the individual. After the consultation, facial expressions are preserved with a dose adjusted according to muscle strength; the goal is not to eliminate facial expressions, but to soften the appearance of lines.

What should you be aware of after Botox?

It is recommended that you remain in an upright position for the first 4 hours after the procedure and avoid massaging the area. It is advised to avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, and Turkish baths for the first 24 hours, and to avoid wearing makeup on the first day.

If Botox is done regularly, does it become permanent?

The effect is not permanent; muscle function returns over time after each treatment. With regular treatments, it has been observed that the duration of the effect may increase slightly as the muscle weakens. The physician determines the interval between treatments.

What is the difference between Botox and fillers?

Botox works on dynamic lines by limiting muscle movement; dermal fillers It restores volume to the area that has lost volume by injecting hyaluronic acid. The two treatments address different issues and can be planned together as needed.

At what age can you start getting Botox?

The procedure is evaluated on a case-by-case basis for individuals 18 years of age and older. Preventive Botox, administered before lines have set in, may also be chosen to delay the deepening of expression lines.
