Step 1: Cleansing + Exfoliation (First Touch of Revitalization)
What to do?
The treatment begins by gently removing makeup, dirt and oil from the surface of the skin. This is followed by the actual exfoliation phase called Vortex-Exfoliation™. In this stage, an “Activ-4™” solution containing gentle but effective exfoliating agents such as glucosamine and lactic acid is applied to the skin. The special blue nozzle of the device infuses this solution into the skin, while at the same time gently lifting and removing dead skin cells from the skin surface.
What to Feel?
This stage is extremely comfortable. It feels slightly cool on your skin and feels like a wet brush being gently brushed across your skin. There is no stinging, burning or pain.
Why is it Important?
This first step is the basis for the entire treatment. Removing the layer of dead skin allows the fresh and healthy skin underneath to emerge. Most importantly, the removal of the pore-clogging barrier perfectly prepares the skin for the next stage, deep cleansing (extraction).
Step 2: Extraction + Moisturizing (Deep Cleansing)
What to do?
This is perhaps the most satisfying and revolutionary step of the Hydrafacial. The Vortex-Extraction™ step uses the “Beta-HD™ Clear” solution, which contains a beta-hydroxy acid (BHA) that, like salicylic acid, is fat-soluble and can penetrate into the pores. This solution softens the oil, dirt and blackhead-causing deposits inside the pores. The specially designed nozzle of the device then pulls out these softened deposits like a vacuum cleaner with a painless vacuum force. Unlike the skin-traumatizing squeezing process of traditional treatments, this process is completely painless and does not harm the skin. At the end of the procedure, seeing what comes out of your skin in the device's waste container is the most tangible proof of how deep a cleansing has been done.
What to Feel?
No pain is felt at this stage. Only a slight vacuuming sensation occurs on your skin.
Why is it Important?
