Not when administered at the correct dose. In the modern approach, the goal is not to completely paralyze the muscles, but to find the optimal dose that will reduce excessive muscle contractions; this prevents lines from deepening while the person continues to make facial expressions.

During the period when Botox first gained popularity, high doses were sometimes administered that completely paralyzed the muscles; failed treatments were exaggeratedly portrayed in the media and in movies; and third, there were application errors such as incorrect injection sites or dosages.
By administering injections at lower doses and at more widely spaced points, complete freezing of facial expressions is avoided. This prevents expression lines from becoming permanent while allowing the person to continue expressing their emotions through their face.
Thanks to modern techniques and low-dose treatments, facial expressions such as smiling, looking surprised, and raising the eyebrows can be achieved with ease. The deep lines that form during these expressions are noticeably softened, yet the face does not appear frozen.
Sure. When the lines between the eyebrows diminish, a person takes on a less angry or anxious expression. Slightly raising the eyebrows makes the eyes appear more open and lively; when crow’s feet soften, the eyes take on a more dynamic expression.
No. Conditions such as drooping eyelids or asymmetrical eyebrows are rare, and since the effects of Botox are temporary, they usually resolve on their own within a few weeks or months. If this happens, it is important to contact your doctor immediately.
