Botox
Wrinkles, which are the most prominent traces left on our face by years and facial expressions, can make our expression look tired, stressed and older than it is. Botox application is a non-surgical, fast and effective medical aesthetic method that minimizes these dynamic wrinkles and gives the skin a younger, rested and positive appearance.
What is Botox?
Botox Clostridium botulinum is a purified protein toxin obtained from bacteria in the laboratory. This substance has been used safely in medicine for many years in different areas such as strabismus and migraine, It is used in aesthetic dermatology, especially to eliminate wrinkles caused by the movement of mimic muscles.
By temporarily restricting the movement of the muscles in the area where it is applied, It prevents wrinkling of the skin over the muscles, prevents deepening of existing lines and makes the skin look smoother.
What Does Botox Do and Which Areas Is It Applied To?
Botox is the gold standard method for the elimination of dynamic wrinkles on the face and the prevention of future ones (preventive botox). Its main purpose is to provide a natural rejuvenation with a personalized dose adjustment without dulling the facial expression.

Botox Application Process
Before the application, Dr. Melis Ülger evaluates the anatomical structure of your face and the strength of your mimic muscles. By listening to your aesthetic expectations, she creates a treatment plan that will give you the most natural result.
The procedure is performed by injecting small doses into designated muscle points using fine-tipped needles.
The application is a very comfortable procedure lasting approximately 10-15 minutes. It usually does not require anesthesia, but anesthetic cream can be used before the procedure for our clients with high sensitivity.
The effect starts to be seen in 3-4 days and the final, smooth appearance appears in about 10-14 days.
Although the permanence of the application varies according to the metabolic rate and muscle structure of the person, it is 4-6 months on average. It has been observed that this period is prolonged with regular applications.
Things to Consider After Application
After Botox treatment, you can return to your social or professional life immediately. To maximize the effectiveness of the procedure, it is enough to follow some simple rules:
Avoid rubbing, scratching and massaging the treated area for the first 4-6 hours.
Again, stay away from steamy environments such as hot showers, Turkish baths, saunas and intense sun for the first few hours.
It is recommended to avoid activities that accelerate blood flow such as heavy exercise, pilates, yoga for one day.
Take care to stay in an upright position for the first 4 hours after the application.
Frequently Asked Questions About Botox
No, there is no loss of expression. There is no loss of expression when it is applied in the right dose, to the right muscle points, by a specialist physician. The aim is to weaken the muscle movement that causes wrinkles, not to eliminate it completely. Dr. Melis Ülger aims to preserve your natural appearance with "dosed" applications.
This is a common misconception. Botox is not snake venom, but a purified drug produced under laboratory conditions from a special bacteria.
Absolutely not. When the effect of Botox wears off, the muscles gradually regain their former mobility and your skin returns to the way it was before the procedure. Botox even has a slowing effect on the aging process in the long term, as wrinkles do not deepen during the time Botox is applied.
