Application
You can have this procedure done at Dr. Melis Ülger’s office in Kadıköy Caddebostan.
Its name comes from the mesoderm, the middle layer of the skin. It is based on the principle of injecting specialized mixtures—such as vitamins, minerals, amino acids, enzymes, and medications—directly into the target area using very fine needles.
It was developed in 1952 by the French physician Dr. Michel Pistor. Initially, it was used to treat pain; his discovery that local injections administered to a patient also improved eczema paved the way for the method’s development. In 1987, the French Academy of Medicine officially recognized mesotherapy as a branch of medicine.
Because the active ingredients reach the target tissue directly, systemic side effects are minimized and the treatment’s effectiveness is increased. Since the medication reaches the affected area without spreading throughout the body, faster results are achieved for localized conditions.
The two mechanisms work together. The injection directly delivers nutrients from the outside; at the same time, the micro-traumas it creates in the skin trigger collagen and elastin production, thereby accelerating the skin’s own renewal process.
From skin rejuvenation to hair loss, and from targeted fat reduction to pain management—the range is extensive. The area of application directly determines the composition of the cocktail used and the injection technique.
It improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and restores the skin’s radiance; it can also be effective in treating dark spots and acne scars. It strengthens the skin barrier and restores moisture balance. The face, neck, décolletage, and backs of the hands are the most common areas for application.
